Press Release

For Immediate Release

HOUSTON- Jesse Muhammad, affectionately known as Brother Jesse, won three 2009 Annual Black Weblog Awards on Sept. 4, 2009. Based on results from the popular vote, his blog won "Blog of the Year," "Best Personal Blog" and "Best Twitter Microblog."

"I am truly humbled by the overwhelming support from my readers and the public. I dedicate these awards to them," says Brother Jesse.

The Black Weblog Awards was founded in 2005 to give recognition to black bloggers and those in the African Diaspora. With participants from over 90 countries, the Black Weblog Awards is one of the most widespread Internet awards for black bloggers.

"The mission of my blog is to inspire people to overcome mediocrity and take action. This honor is truly a testament to that. Our best work is yet to come," says Brother Jesse.

His award-winning site, Brother Jesse Blog, has developed a diverse readership for its consistent content, unique perspectives on current events, overlooked information and inspirational posts that relate to the everyday issues faced by its readers.

Brother Jesse decided to celebrate his victory by going on a search for the true identity of his biological father. Since announcing his intentions, it has struck a nerve with many people who have desired to take the same step and have been following this blog series from day one.

"My mother shared with me that she was between relationships when she got pregnant with me so she's not sure who the father is," says Brother Jesse, 31. "We decided together to embark upon this journey to find out the truth and we have received overwhelming support, love and critical data from people already."
